Raleigh sign company works closely with salon owner to create comprehensive interior and exterior signage solution
RALEIGH, NC – January 4, 2013 – Capital Sign Solutions has announced the recent completion and installation of interior and exterior signage for salonspace. The signage company provided site surveys, code research, permitting, design, fabrication, installation, and inspections for the salon’s two Raleigh locations: Falls Ridge Medical Center and The Marketplace at Lake Boone.
Salonspace is owned by Michael Powers and offers a business model quite unlike traditional salons. According to Powers, the salonspace model was designed specifically for the experienced salon professional who is seeking the opportunity to own his or her own salon without the risk or expense. Stylists rent fully-equipped, client-ready spaces. When Powers contacted Capital Sign Solutions, all he had was a logo and a clear idea as to how he wanted his business model translated. He worked closely with Capital Sign Solutions founder and President, Patrick Mills, and Senior Graphic Designer Jennifer Aubut.
“I heard about Capital Sign Solutions through a real estate broker,” said Powers. “When I contacted them, my development and signage plan was unfortunately incomplete. The entire Capital Sign Solution’s team went above and beyond the call of duty and worked with the city of Raleigh to get the plans developed and approved. I couldn’t be more pleased with the entire process, as well as the final outcome.”
Mills says that no signage project is the same and that each one comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities. Salonspace was no different.
“One of Michael’s locations was in Falls Ridge, which is a planned development district or PDD. In Raleigh, PDD’s are given a signage allowance that allows the landlord more square footage for signage. For reasons unknown, Falls Ridge had never prepared the necessary paperwork needed to tabulate the square footage allowance for its signs, so our team had to go to downtown Raleigh in order to assess and calculate every single sign in the development. It was a lengthy, but necessary process. Without this paperwork, we would never have gotten permits for salonspace’s signage. The entire project would have been a non-starter.”
Despite the unexpected obstacles, Powers said that Capital Sign Solutions delivered everything as promised and has already recommended the company to other colleagues.
“Through our relationship, we found Capital Sign Solutions to be a creative and cost-effective partner for our Raleigh development plan,” added Powers. “We look forward to working with them again as we make plans to open up our third location in Raleigh next summer.
